The only way to “cure” insomnia

The only way to “cure” insomnia

Not being able to sleep normally is so frustrating. Whether you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, the result is the same…feeling exhausted!

If you are experiencing insomnia, there are imbalances in your body. I know this is true because a healthy body sleeps well.

Insomnia affects every aspect of your life, but you can cure your insomnia using The Sleep Detective™ Method.

In this blog post, you’ll learn:

  • The sleep essentials you need to focus on first to cure your insomnia
  • What lab tests you need to take to create a personalized sleep plan
  • How to implement your personalized sleep plan and get better
  • How to monitor your results and refine your sleep plan
  • How to sleep well permanently with 7+ hours of uninterrupted sleep a night

Let’s dive in!

The sleep essentials you need to focus on first to cure your insomnia

Your habits, diet and blood sugar balance are crucial to a good night's sleep, and it’s exactly where you need to start to sleep better.

Everything you do during the day determines how you sleep at night! Make sure you aren’t sabotaging your sleep with bad habits.

There is a difference between eating “healthy” and eating right for your body. When I work with my clients, I use the Metabolic Typing diet to find the optimal diet for YOUR body so you can rest easily at night.

Low and high blood sugar sabotage sleep at night. You can test and balance your blood sugar to stop the 3am wake-ups.

My Sleep Essentials course covers everything you need to know to optimize your diet, stabilize your blood sugar and have smart sleep habits so you can sleep well. And again, it’s the best place to start to cure your insomnia.

Focusing on the sleep essentials may be the only thing you need to do in order to solve your insomnia. But if it’s not, lab testing is your next step.

What lab tests you need to take to create a personalized sleep plan

There are 4 functional lab tests that I recommend to find the root cause of your insomnia:

  1. The DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is a comprehensive hormone test using dried urine that shows what’s going on with your cortisol, DHEA, sex hormones, and melatonin. High cortisol at night and sex hormone imbalance can cause sleep issues so this test is critical for anyone suffering from insomnia. This test also shows how your hormones are being broken down by your body which shows liver function.

  2. The GI Map is a stool test that tells us what's living in our gut: the good, the bad, and the pathogenic. Most of our clients have some sort of overgrowth in the gut and this is a key cause of insomnia since those creatures are nocturnal. This test also gives clues about your digestion, detoxification, immune system, and more.

  3. The Neuro Focus Panel looks at 7 key neurotransmitters so we can support any deficiencies and get you sleeping better as soon as possible.

  4. Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). Knowing your mineral balance and deficiencies is key to getting your whole body back in balance so you can sleep well. It also shows how your adrenals, thyroid, blood sugar, and nervous system are functioning and it looks at heavy metals which can cause neurological and liver issues.

With the results from these 4 lab tests, my team and I can create a personalized sleep plan that not only solves your insomnia, but also fixes the imbalances inside your body.

How to implement your personalized sleep plan and get better

Once you have your personalized sleep plan, it’s time to get into action!

Some of my clients find it easy to follow their sleep plans, while others have more difficulty.

This is why it’s so important to get specialized support from a team of experts during this process. My team would be happy to help you implement your personalized sleep plan, so you can sleep better and feel better as soon as possible.

How to monitor your results and refine your sleep plan

After you start following your sleep plan, you’ll need to monitor your results.

Is your sleep improving?

Are you physically feeling better?

What is working? What isn’t working?

Answering these questions will help us refine your sleep plan for continuous improvement.

How to sleep well permanently with 7+ hours of uninterrupted sleep a night

If you want to “cure” your insomnia, start with the sleep essentials. If those work for you, great! But if they don’t, you can still get through this.

Your next step is to take 4 functional lab tests, get a personalized sleep plan, implement it, monitor your results, and refine your plan until you are sleeping 7+ hours uninterrupted each night.

Most of my clients accomplish this in 6 months or less, and my team and I would love to help you through this too.
